how does chiropractic treatment help children’s ear aches?

December 26th, 2009 -- Posted in chiropractic treatment | 7 Comments »

I doubt it does. I know my chiropractor says he can "heal" anything with chiropractic…but Ive had little success with him helping me with anything other than my bad back and shoulder.

Children usually get earaches from congestion (allergies, cold, etc), infections (treated rarely with antibiotics) or just physical make up of the ear canal.

If its chronic and your doctor doesnt have a suggestion, maybe its time to switch to an ear nose and throat doctor for your child.

anyone with cervical degenerative disc disease? Had any success with physical therapy?

December 26th, 2009 -- Posted in chiropractic therapy | 2 Comments »

I have had chronic neck pain for the last 5+ years. I recently had a neck xray and found that I have degenerative disc disease (I believe this is or is related to osteoarthritis). I was wondering if anyone out there also has this and had success with physical therapy, chiropractic, etc….as opposed to surgery.. I would like to avoid surgery if possible. Any info is appreciated…..Thanks!

Physical therapy, including cervical traction, works well. Make sure you do the stretches every day too. The therapy exercises can hurt in the beginning but they are trying to make the muscles in other areas stronger.
If you have an Encore Facility in your town, they are very good and take insurance.
A chiropractor made my neck and shoulders hurt worse.

I am a 17 year old pitcher whos had hip & elbow problems. Ive been fine but I tried chirprctc work. Is it safe?

December 26th, 2009 -- Posted in chiropractic technique | 3 Comments »

I had little league elbow for years, and usually arm pain manifests itself in my elbow rather than in my rotator cuff. I’m 5′ 9" and I throw low 90’s so I get a lot of tension in through there, so that’s understandable. Over the past two years I have had severe hip problems that were diagnosed as a problem with an off tilt sacrum with pain manifesting itself in my SI joint through my hips, primarily on my left side (my plant leg – I’m right handed). When I first started having hip problems about two years ago, the first thing I tried was chiropractic work. It only made it worse, now granted, I was playing football and my problems had not been diagnosed. Massages and physical therapy got me set straight, as well as a raise in my right shoe that balances me out. I’ve been fine for a few months, but fine isn’t good enough. So i had some work done about an hour ago, and I’m already not feeling so great, and I’m really trying to find an expert opinion on Chiropractic work in pitchers, if its too violent, and if there are some specific techniques I should ask him to perform. Thanks for taking the time to read this novel. I’m just trying to be thorough.

Tough question.

I think the guy above who played rugby league (that’s not rugby union, hope you know that) has some good ideas.

I would have to say that with all those biomechanical problems, another advice would be to stop pitching..but I know it’s too harsh.

Personally I would skip the chiropractor and try a physiotherapist with a sports background, maybe you could get someone who works at a college..not sure.

i work in the healthcare field, but my employer doesn’t offer health insurance? why?

December 26th, 2009 -- Posted in chiropractic clinic | 2 Comments »

it is a small chiropractic clinic with 2 doctors and 4 employees. is it up to the owner/doctor if they offer health insurance to their employees, and why wouldn’t they offer it? is it expensive for them??? any info on this would be great

You answered the question on your own. it is a small chiropractic clinic with 2 doctors and 4 employees. is it up to the owner/doctor if they offer health insurance to their employees. For a small business to provide health insurance for their employees it is freaking expensive. I sell insurance and I tend to go after bigger businesses they get better rates. Small businesses usually try it once and then realize they are loosing a lot of money out of pocket to provide that especially if they employ females under the age of 40. The years they can have a baby. It tends to be very expensive you can look for your own insurance either major medical or just supplemental, something like Aflac. insurance .com is a good place to shop for the rates that you want. Good luck, maybe you can talk him into bringing it, but it will be difficult. If he is concerned about employee retention and moral maybe he will.
